How long do Easy-Logs burn for?
Really there is no accurate answer for this, It all depends on how you measure when it stops burning. However they burn for the same time as good quality very dry Kiln dried hard wood. About 1.5-2 hours. Remember if a log is not burning well it will last for ages and pollute the atmosphere. Its all about heat output and clean burning.
Can I use them in a smoke free zone?
Yes, they are cleaner than wood, but you need a DEFRA approved stove, same as for wood. But the stoves are up to 85% efficient.
Do you add any binders or additives?
No, Nothing the massive pressure in the production process releases Lignin’s from cell walls sticking the briquette together.
Do they burn the same as Logs?
Better, just remember they burn hotter so monitor the temperature and air when you first use them. Also don’t poke them, leave them alone.
Can I use them with logs?
Yes, find your best method, they help logs burn better and Briquettes burn well on a bed of log coals.
How many do I use?
Fill your burner 1/4 full to allow for the expansion of Briquettes, this is normal.
Can I use them on Chimeneas and Fire Pits outside?
Yes, they are perfect, clean burning, little smoke once going and huge heat output. They will keep you warm whilst sipping wine and chatting!
Can I barbeque with them?
If you must!, once the flames die down after about an hour, Just use charcoal its better for cooking!
Can I use them on any Log Burning stove?
Yes We have tested them many leading makes of stoves including leading brands like Clearview, Morso, AGA, Dovre, Stovax, Dunsley, Esse, Villager, Charnwood etc.
Do they spit?
No, there is no moisture to get trapped and produce gas, then explode! Yep that’s what all that spitting is about, moisture.
How do I light my Easy-Logs?
• Normal Lighting.
• Use paper and a little kindling or use fire lighters just like logs.
• Pile briquettes in a heap.
• Quarter fill log burner to allow for expansion of briquettes.
• Light paper and you’re off.
• Can be used in conjunction with normal logs.
